El Rey Information
El Rey is a little known Maya archeological site nestled in the main hotel zone of Cancun. For travelers that want to experience the ancient Maya civilization but don’t have the time for a trip to Chichen Itza or Tulum, El Rey might be for you. El Rey was once a city center and a village for trading goods between Maya cities like Akumal and Tulum. Today it is a beautiful garden where you can climb to the top of a pyramid and share your view with one of many iguanas that roam the site.
